Meet A Jeb: Kyle Blair

Alright today we are updating about our dear friend Kyle Blair. Kyle is one of those guys that I can truly say I always look forward to seeing, and is easily one of the funniest people I know. Plus he is a super talented artist who's only going to keep getting better and better.

Good afternoon, Kyle. Good morning.

Can you remember a specific time when you first thought “I want to be an artist”?
Sure don’t. My mom noticed when I was three years old, and all I did was doodle and color. Prodigy.

What are your biggest creative motivators? The Muppets, Popeye, sitcoms, change, testosterone.

Looking at me, John, and Kyle A. Which of us do you think would be the easiest to overpower and use as food if we were stranded on an island? Explain your answer. Between the four of us, it wouldn’t be much of a physical battle, but more of a battle of wits. I’m guessing John would go out first. He would probably tell us, “It’s cool guys. I should die anyway, feel free to start nibbling.” Then Jason would either die of missing his woman, or complaining himself to death over the hot weather, (whichever came first). Both John and Jason would die in the first day. That would leave the two Kyle’s to battle it out. We would battle by having an insomnia contest, but after it lasts too long, Kyle A. would hit me over the head with a glass bottle. Kyle Armstrong would win. He’s real scrappy.

How do you gauge if one of your pieces of artwork is a “success” or not? By how jealous or (more usually) not jealous the other Jeb Kennedy guys are. Or what kind of noise Kegan Swyers makes when he sees it for the first time.

Read any good books lately? Yeah. But don’t take my word for it.

If you could have any accent in the world, which would you choose? South African Alan Alda.

When you have artist’s block, where is the first place you look for inspiration? The refrigerator.

If you could live with any person for a month, who would it be? Who’s place are we staying at? Their place- Willy Wonka. My place- The cast of Home Improvement.

Name one way that Jeb Kennedy has helped improve your life. By giving me the perfect mixture of deadlines with art I actually want to make. And improvement in my spaghetti arms.

Why do you think your Klout score is so much higher than mine? Is the system broken? Shifty deals, and insider trading. That, and hard work.

Last question. Do you think anyone can learn to be an artist? I sure hope so. I’m still trying.

Thanks for your time, Kyle. No, thank you, John.
